Being a part of the social media community is becoming a necessity not an option. The public is using social media in historical numbers to connect, communicate, and learn from each other, and they expect public sector employees and officials to interact with them in the same manner. In this workshop you will learn the history, impact, and trajectory of social media as well as the practice of making it part of your strategy and operations, understanding and managing risks, working through objections and obstacles, developing sound policies, and gaining an understanding on how others are using social media to improve their service delivery.
